We respect your right to privacy and are committed to maintaining your trust and confidence when you provide us with your personal information. We are the data controller for your personal data and will ensure it is used and stored in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

What information we collect about you

Mailing List

We collect your personal information when you decide to interact with us. This is generally when you sign up to receive emails from us, and consent to receive news about our latest concerts, tours and various activities and projects including educational activities such as workshops, lecture demonstrations and residential/non-residential retreats. We use Mailchimp to deliver our newsletter and gather statistics around click and open rates and analytics using their inbuilt tools to help us monitor and improve our newsletter. Website data

We collect your IP address when you use our website or email service. We also look at how our audience uses our website, so that we can offer the best possible experience for each visitor. Our website uses cookies, which retain information about your online behaviour, preferences and settings, and your journey across our website. Cookies and logging of IP addresses are collected to enable Chakardar to monitor site traffic and repeat visitor statistics through Google Analytics. Social Media

Depending on your settings or the privacy policies for social media services like Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, we may access to your personal information on those accounts when you message us. We also collect and track anonymised data on our social media audiences to better understand the profiles and behaviour of people who engage with us online. Data sharing

Chakardar collaborates closely with UK venues with whom we have special and longstanding relationships. We may put a legal data sharing agreement in place with these UK partners, in relation to data and insight, and obtain production reports. This provides us with the opportunity to understand our audiences better, the local and national context, to measure and appreciate how our audiences respond to a variety of marketing activity so we can ensure our activity is well targeted, relevant and effective.

The personal information we collate and use may include:

• Contact details (phone numbers, full addresses, email addresses) for specific registration (workshops, auditions)

• Equality information as collected in our Equality Questionnaire (e.g. in recruitment)

Third Parties

We may also obtain your data from third parties, such as organisations with which we enter into an agreement.  These organisations should not pass on your data to us without your knowledge and only if it is required in the performance of a contract. The third party will require your permission in order to share your data with us for marketing purposes. If you work directly for Chakardar, we may also need to collate your personal information in order to carry out work and to run our programmes effectively.

• Date of birth, bank details, National Insurance number, passport information, emergency contact information for contractual purpose and other legal requirements

• Equality information as collected in our Equality Questionnaire (e.g. in recruitment)

• Education, professional qualifications, work history and references

We do not share your information unnecessarily and without your prior consent. In order to ensure a smooth run of our touring and learning activities, we may share your information with:

• Government bodies and agencies worldwide

– Home Office for immigration status and visa submission

– Disclosure & Barring Service for DBS checks

– HMRC for A1 Certificates

– Arts Council England

– Visa Department of Consulates or visa agencies

– any other government bodies worldwide

• International presenters who host our productions

• International representatives of Chakardar

Transfers outside the EEA

Personal data collected from you may be transferred to recipients described above who may be in countries located outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) which do not provide a similar or adequate level of protection to that provided by countries in the EEA.
